A towing mirror is really going to expand our field of view. That can be especially useful whenever we're making a lane change, backing up into a tight parking spot, or just wanting to keep a closer eye on what's going on behind us. So to give you an example, as you can see, I'm visible in our towing mirror, but not in our factory mirror. But if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of that towing mirror and become visible in the factory mirror. more

CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.Today on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the SEPA universal fit towing mirror, which is also sold as a set.Towing mirror really going to expand our field of view.That can be especially useful whenever making a lane change, backing up into a tight parking spot, or just wanting to keep a closer eye on what's going on behind us.So to give you an example, how much more ground we're going to be able to cover, as you can see, I'm visible and they're telling me, but not our factory mirror.Now, if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of that towing mirror and become visible in our factory mirror.that's also really going to help to eliminate any blind spots as well.One of the biggest questions we get in regards to universal fit towing mirrors is if you're going to have any vibration or noise, especially at higher speeds.Well, this one does clamped to the factory mirror and it really is solid.If I kind of move it around, you can see it's just moving with the factory mirror.So I really don't see that causing an issue for you.And since our towing mirror is going to extend the overall width of our Equinox, sometimes it may be a little tricky to pull into tight spots.As you need to free up some space, you still are able to completely fold the mirror in the Toe of your lens in this position.There's a little contact, but if you just rotate it, it'll give you that extra enter so that you might need.And even with the towing mirror in place, we're still able to maintain all of our adjustability with our factory mirror.That's really good to come in handy.That way you don't have to sacrifice any visibility.Towing mirror itself is also completely adjustable.You're going to be able to adjust it up and down side to side, pretty much any which way you want.You can even rotate it a full 360 degrees.So you shouldn't have any problems finding a position that works best for you.And since this tow mirror is universal, chances are pretty good.If you happen to have another vehicle in the household, it'll probably work with that too.And if you want to switch them around, it's really not too big of a headache because how easy this is to put on and take off.Speaking of which let's go ahead and pull it all together now.So the way we get our mirror on is these two knobs, which you're going to do is loosen them up.And that's going to create a bigger gap in between these two pieces here.So once you have that created, it will just simply slide that onto the factory mirror, kind of hold it in place and then just evenly turn the knobs to clamp it down.Once you have it nice and snowing. If you picked up a set, you simply just repeat this process over on the other side.And that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the SEPA universal fit towing mirror on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors.With our towing mirror on it's really going to expand our field of view. It's going to help us a lot when we're backing up, parking, or even changing lanes. Right now you can see me in the towing mirror, but you can't see me in the factory mirror. That's how much more we're going to be able to see with the towing mirror installed.These towing mirrors are universal fit, so if you have another SUV or a truck in the household, chances are pretty good you can use it with those too.Keep in mind on our Equinox it does limit our adjustability of the factory mirror, however you can make up for some of that adjustability because the towing mirror itself has quite the range of motion.You're not going to have to worry about our towing mirror damaging your vehicle's finish, because the straps are rubber coated. If you need to fold your mirror in for whatever reason, you can still do that.To begin our install we're going to take our towing mirror, we're going to make sure that these plastic clips are pushed all the way down like this. These are actually going to rest in our mirror housing, that way when we tighten it, these will hold our towing mirror to our factory mirror.I'm going to go ahead and push our plastic clips in between the mirror glass itself and the housing. more

Today, on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be taking a look at the clip-on towing mirror, part number 7070. Here at the back of our trailer we have a clear view with our factory mirror. If I step out to the side, we're going to lose that visibility in our factory mirror but gain it in our towing mirror. This is going to be great whenever we're driving our vehicle with our trailer attached and we're trying to pass vehicles or we're trying to park our trailer. Our mirror's fully adjustable from side to side and up and down and we can rotate it to widen our field of view. The plastic tabs are going to grip around the plastic housing of our factory mirror and it's still going to allow us adjust our factory mirror. With our towing mirror still installed, we can partially fold in our factory mirror to get into those tight spaces. more

CIPA Clamp On Universal Fit Towing Mirror Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Cipa Universal Towing Mirror, part number CM11980. Here at the back of our trailer we have a perfect view in our factory mirror, but if I step out to the side here we lose that visibility in our factory mirror but gain it in our towing mirror. This is going to be great from whenever we're driving down the highway and need to pass vehicles or whenever we're trying to park our trailer. Our factory towing mirror is going to be a perfect solution whenever you're towing and you need to fully adjust your mirror, for whatever field of view. You also have the option to rotate it for a wider field of view. We simply come to the back of our mirror, loosen up our nob, rotate our mirror and tighten up our nob so it holds it in place. Our mirror also extends out by loosening up the nut here at the top, we can extend it out to wherever we need and tighten our nob back up. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Dual View Clip On Towing Mirror, part number 11953. Here in our factory mirror we're going to see all the way to the back of our trailer, which is great whenever we're pulling the trailer, though if I step out to the side we're going to lose that visibility in our factory mirror, but gain it in the first portion of our towing mirror. This is going to be great for when we're passing vehicles or trying to park. Now, with this Dual View Mirror, if I step out even further to the side we're still going to have even more of a view, and this is great for safety reasons whenever you're parking or trying to pass vehicles. Our towing mirror is fully adjustable to change our field of view to whatever we need. The tabs are going to sit between a plastic housing and our factory mirror. This is not going to affect the use of our factory mirror. more

So here's what our towing mirror looks like fully installed. And they have full adjustability being able to get that perfect angle when we're going down the road and even we can turn our mirror sideways for more of a wide angle view. The way we're going to attach our mirror is, it'll have four small tabs, they're going to fit in between our housing and our mirror glass and then a few straps to secure it to the back. more

Not a problem but if we wanted to change lanes and there's something next to our trailer, we won't be able to see it in the factory mirror. That's where the tow mirrors come into play. I'll step out to the side. You can't see me in the factory mirror anymore but now you can see me in the tow mirror. Our mirror's fully adjustable. more

CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today in our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be doing an installation of a CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror, part number 7070. If you wanna execute a maneuver when you're towing a trailer, you have to watch out for the extra distance of your trailer. If you wanna change lanes, if I step over here you can't see me in the factory mirror anymore, but now you can see me in the towing mirror. We also have our individual adjustment to the side, up, down. We can rotate it however we need to get the field of vision that we want, and a field of vision that we need. Now, a nice thing about this mirror is we can still adjust our factory power mirror without a problem, because it doesn't mount over the glass, it just mounts around the glass and to the side of it. The glass here is on unaffected. more

CIPA Clamp on Universal Fit Towing Mirror Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today, in our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing the CIPA universal fit towing mirror, part number CM 11980. Now, if you wanted to change a lane while you're hooked up to your trailer, such as our jet ski trailer here today, it would be difficult to see if there's anything beside the trailer when you wanted to execute your lane change. I'll step over here, to show that. You can't see me in the factory mirror anymore, but now you can see me in the tow mirror. This will prevent you from sideswiping something with your trailer when you're changing lanes. Now, our mirror is fully adjustable. We can go up, down, side to side, whichever direction we need to go in order to get the vision that we need and the vision that we want to see our trailer. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing the K Source Universal Clip on Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. Now you can see me just fine in the factory mirror on the vehicle. This is great for normal driving applications. But, with our jet ski trailer behind us here, we may have issues if we wanted to change lanes and there's something to the side of the trailer. Now, if I step over here you can no longer see me in the factory mirror, but you can still me to the side of the jet ski trailer in the new tow mirror that we installed. This is the reason why you want to have tow mirrors when you're towing a trailer. Now, our mirror's fully adjustable. We can do side to side. more

Today, on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be doing a test fit on the K-Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. It comes in a quantity of one but is universal, so if you'd like to pick up one for the passenger side, just use the same part number. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer. The mirror can be adjusted to most angles. We've got left and right, up and down, and even diagonal. By simply removing the Phillips head screw from the back, we can adjust it to the horizontal position. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be taking a look at the K-Source Universal Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. Here in our factory mirror, we can see clearly to the back of our trailer, although if I step out to the side, we've lost visibility in our factory mirror but gained it in our towing mirror. We can see clearly to the side for safely parking and changing lanes when driving down the road. The mirror face dimensions are 7-3/4 x 5-1/8 inches. The whole towing mirror adjusts from 4-1/2 inches tall to 14 inches tall. The K-Source towing mirror is equipped with a padding on the back to prevent scuffs to your mirror. Our straps ratchet down to provide a nice secure fit. Our straps also adjust to fit many different style mirrors. Our mirror also pivots to give you different view points. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get these installed. We're going to take our new towing mirrors and just set them loosely in place. more

Today, on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be test fitting the Cipa universal towing mirrors. These are clamp on, adjustable length, designed to work on either the drivers side, or passenger side. Part number is CM11980. Now we find with this towing mirror, the field of the view difference that we get is really quite substantial. You'll see here from the back of our 20 foot camper as I start to step out, you see me in the factory mirror. That is where that starts to end. Now this is where our towing mirrors really going to take over and help us out. more

CIPA Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today I have a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. We're going to take a look at, and show you how to install, the Cipa clip-on towing mirror. This is part #7070 and it'll work for the driver's side or the passenger's side. All right, now let's take a look at the field of view difference we're going to have with the mirrors versus our factory mirrors. Right now I'm standing at the back corner of about a 20-foot camper. You'll see as we start to come out, we're finding that factory mirror, going to give us that normal field of view that we're used to seeing. When we add in that towing mirror, you'll see as we transition over here, we're going to be able to move out a lot further from the RV, so now as we're turning, if we we're maneuvering, we'll be able to see out here where that camper's swinging around and we won't have to be stretching out the window or stretching around while trying to look behind us. Now, one thing I've noticed about the fit, see here on the top We can pull that up and create a gap. more

Today, a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. We're going to install part number KS3891. This is a case-less universal towing mirror that clips on. Before we install it, we'll go ahead and cover a couple features. First off, it has these straps that wrap around the entire mirror and get a grip on the mirror. And the large pad right here, underneath the ratchet, it helps protect the strap from the painted surface on your mirror. Also, there's a little ring here to help contain your excess strap when you need to. more

All right, today on this 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to install part number KS3891. This is a K Source Universal Towing Mirror. This is what it looks like when it's installed on a vehicle. We have it on the passenger side so we can point out some of the features. One thing, the mirror itself, has a measurement of 7 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/8 inches wide. The mirror sits on a ball joint so you can move it in any direction if you like. Now our mirror is designed to fit a variety of different shapes. more

CIPA Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to install part number 7070, the CIPA clip-on towing mirror. One detail about the towing mirror is that the mirror surface itself has a dimension of 5 inches by 7-1/2 inches. This part number also includes just one towing mirror so if you want one on each side you need to order two of the same part number. Now we have ours installed on the passenger's side mirror to show you the features and then we'll go ahead and show you how to install it. The features are pretty simple. You've got a large towing mirror right here that's on a ball joint that you can move in any direction that you want and then spin it around that way as well. This is a universal mirror so this will attach to a variety of different mirror designs. more
